To become a Just Food member . . .

As a Just Food member you will:

• Receive our monthly E-newsletter notifying you of things that are going on in Ottawa related to food and food security.
• Be asked to assemble once per year to share your expertise and vision for the council and direction for food security work in Ottawa.
• Be informed about and asked to participate in projects that correspond with your interests or area of expertise.
• As a member of Just Food we ask that you agree with, support (and promote, when possible) our mission (listed below), keeping in mind that we all may have different views on how we will come to a food secure city. We welcome and encourage that diversity.

Our mission: To ensure that Ottawa is Food Secure.
Food security exists when all people, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs, as well as to culturally acceptable food preferences for an active and healthy life. As well, foods are produced as locally as possible, and their production and distribution are environmentally, socially and economically just.

Food security in our community cannot be achieved by one sector alone. We need to work together!
